3P is a key workshop in an early phase of an NPD project aimed at defining an optimal product and manufacturing process plus supply chain concept that will meet the business case objectives for cost, time and revenue.

- Understand warm up exercises: part count, tear down of existing product
- Understand the key principles for design for manufacturing and how it supports creativity.
- Understand how to structure exercises aimed at defining product design
- Understand how to use Pugh matrix to drive the right decision-making mind-set
- Understand how to map the manufacturing process and scope simulation focus
- Understand basics principles of lean manufacturing and cell design
- Understand how to build a “mock up” production line and how to capture learnings and decisions from repetitive simulation, observation and identified improvements

- Short (~0.5 day) introduction to the “3P” concept; fully blown optional training can take up to three days for future “3P” workshop facilitators
- Implementation methodology
- Run the “3P“ workshop on a real-life project and develop set of recommendations for the project
