Developing a producible product is critical to achieving low costs and high quality. Design for manufacturability and assembly must be addressed early in the product development cycle during the concept phase to be truly successful and must continue to be addressed until production begins. This is one of the key cross-functional NPD efforts in pursuing a manufacturable design.

- Establish required management understanding and commitment of the DFM/A importance
- Define the DFM/A process and document it based on the established experience with best DFM/A practices. We can define roles and responsibilities at the customer and at the suppliers and help estimate needed resources to support a more comprehensive DFM/A implementation.

- DFM/A tailored and scalable training (1-3 days) can be put together to develop an understanding of DFM principles, practices, tools and methodology
- Implementation Methodology
- Design for manufacturability facilitation can be provided to a product team as it works to develop its concept and design. I can facilitate the application of DFM; provide specific DFM feedback; and facilitate consideration of design, material and process alternatives. I can apply the DFM/A analysis methodology to determine where the highest payoff is from improving manufacturability.
- I can work with the organization to structure a supplier’s involvement program based on the DFM/A, provide DFM/A training to suppliers, and work with key suppliers to establish the DFM/A program.
