Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) is a structured method for defining and executing the actions necessary to ensure that the product quality satisfies the customer. APQP is the customer-led program and is also supplier-dependent and is required for the entire system, subsystem and component manufacturing locations. This module closely links to A.2.1 (DFSS) and to A.2.3 (APQP – Supplier) as APQP serves as the basic framework for effective supplier selection and integration in product development activities of the customer program. APQP is equally a tool for a forward-looking product quality planning at the customer’s factory, where all components and modules will be assembled into the final product.
