This activity enables brainstorming, capturing and evaluating ideas and developing potential solutions for the packaging and transport. This is an extension of the logistics and inventory strategy development (see B.1.3). Packaging and transport design allows optimisation of the total logistics cost and better protection of goods in transport. Also packaging design can make improvements in material handing either at a supplier’s or at the customer’s factory. Efficient packaging solution also means more efficient warehousing, local factory transport, handling and feeding of parts to the production line.
